How can I check if its safe to use ie compatible
Is there a reliable way of testing the whole rig in my shed?
I cannot find any ref to this model so I need some help

This is an old spot the ball sounder, if you connect it up to the transducer and put a wet hand under the transducer you should feel it pulsing if it is working, not much help I know but no one else seems to be responding, when working they are ok, but modern simple echo Sounders are quite cheap and work better.

Hello,
thanks for the hint, I have a modern depth sounder with a through hull transduc.er
but the Ping machine will look more fitting in My Buchanan 24.
I though perhhaps both ??
have a good holiday

With similar type sounders we would put the transducer in a metal bucket of water and you could hear the pulses quite clearly.

This was with Decca Radar in the 1970's with Simrad sounders we had put on test before refitting to the boats.

I can now confirm Transducer is working, thanks to all for the help.
But of course having a wooden hull boat doesnt help, any ideas?
