My son has booked us in for tonight, but we are on the outside of the outer pontoon. In these strong NW winds, what can we expect there, rough, calm or just acceptable. We’re in a 46’ mobo.

Never been to IoW before, either of us. It’s certainly very windy here in Gosport!

Unfortunately we won’t be coming over. It’s a new boat for my son and he doesn’t want to risk any damage on his first trip out.
The wind is much stronger than forecast yesterday, he only booked the marina this time yesterday, no refund or credit note. They won’t be seeing either of us in the future!

shame on them and that we don't get to say hi either.

I've just been down there on the dinghy and it would indeed be very restless on the outside, once past the chain ferry you'd be fine. Fwiw, there were no other boats on the outside. I'm surprised and disappointed you weren't even offered a credit.

Was over in the west Wight today and looked quite rough towards Hurst. First hovercraft restarted at 7 and now much calmer ashore in cowes this evening but a real shortage of restaurant spaces even if berths are free .

Now fuelling up just N of Shepard’s. Bumpy ride across from Gunwharf Quay! Soon off to Weymouth. Hopefully a bit calmer once we get in the lee of the land. A coast hugging trip back to Plymouth is in order. Maybe stop in Lyme Regis for brunch.
Lovely spot here in Cowes. Will have to return on Eos to explore.

Stopped for lunch at W Cowes today then visited Gurnard and Yarmouth ( by car not boat unfortunately). Looked quite lively out there, Windy was saying F4 to F5 but felt a lot breasier than that onshore.

Don't think I'd have fancied that mooring!

Certainly looked bouncy in the harbour for the yacht alongside the sun seeker parked up in Yarmouth. We found a new tea room today at jehir who were very friendly and also seem to serve gin should that be your tipple.

We'll pop over on the bike if you're about today?
Oops, sorry I missed this post, had intermittent wifi issues yesterday, back on line today though. We are usually around as we have no transport, on A21 (white hulled BirchwoodT37 Miratea , 4th berth in down ramp from car park on starboard (east) side of A Pontoon, will try and send PM with phone number

Hi R0bin, we were berthed on A5 a couple of weeks ago just opposite you...in Savannah (P415)...we had a couple of bikes sat on the back. Love Island Harbour.

I remember Savannah, lovely looking boat too, we thought about one when looking for our current boat but no good ones around at the time. Had a look at 2 p45s too but both had problems one needing both fuel tanks replacing one had water damage internal woodwork issues, there was one we missed in Wales that sold before we got to it.
