Shell Channel pilot - latest edition worth having?

I have an early - 97 or 99 edition of the Shell Channel pilot. Is it worth getting the latest edition, given I have current Reeds almanac or is there something better to spend money on covering broadly same area.

Leaving aside any navigational changes, the more recent editions seem to carry more information on shore side facilities than the 1997 edition we have knocking around the study.

FYI, just bought my new 2017 edition of the Shell Channel Pilot for less than £28! Advise anyone wanting one to be quick, other places want £40 plus.

Does rather depend how you take to Mr Cunliffe's style.

Usually use the Almanac and the French Almanac. Generally the internet is taking over - marinas, harbours have web sites and the mobile phone makes distant enquiry easy.
