Hey all,
My PSS shaft seal (3 years old) recently developed an issue. Under load (1700-2800 RPM on Volvo D4-260s) the graphite blows its seal. I've compressed the bellows to max spec, checked the motor mounts, and assured there is no play in the shaft. The boat can't be lifted out of the water because our harbor's boat-lift is out of service. Any advice that I can try in situ? Also, if pull back the stainless seal to clean it, do I use alcohol, ether, or something else w/ fine grit sand paper?
