Seven men sail into Essex marina unannounced

I don't know why this was in the news this week as this happened over a month ago from what I've been told.

The security guard is present from about 1900 without fail, and the gate is closed from about midnight, very pleasant guy who would certainly challenge anyone acting suspiciously. But long gone by 0930 when they landed.

Thanks for letting me know - it happens that so far I haven't had to enter or leave at that sort of time. It would still be very easy to bypass the security entirely; for example, I reckon you could get from the SW corner of the bund of the pond for the dredgings onto the bank of the field drain heading south, which would take you towards the main road. There's a path; it is marked with "No Entry" signs, but that would only stop those with no evil intent! Ancient training as a geologist made me aware that there are few impervious fences and gates in the country

I had never heard of Puffins in the is area and neither has my next door neighbour who is a great naturalist, has anybody else seen them?

My neighbour says that sometimes birds get out of their area, are we going to have Puffins o the lower east coast

If that (01:46) is a full-sized puffin and the herring gull just behind it is a juvenile then I would be more worried about the impending influx of giant mutant gulls than any infiltration by terroist cells
