Service costs on KAD43's

Re: Service costs on KAD43\'s

I have AD41's. Basic drive service would be about £500, i do the filters & oil change myself. However I recon on a +/- 10 yr old boat and average yearly maintenance & fixing budget would be £1500 - 2000 GBP

Just replaced a leaky trim cilinder which cost me nearly £2000 or 3000 € so might be be a bit biased. However I do reckon this is a good average.

Re: Service costs on KAD43\'s

It would be very similar to the cost of running KAD32's, but with more oil.

The cost of belts/filters/oil/anodes etc. for two engines is about £600 for the bits, if you do it all yourself. Easily £1200 if done professionally. Every two years, budget another £500 for rubber outdrive bits (replaced professionally).

On average, maybe £900/yr if you DIY, or £1500/yr if you have the pros in.

Some years might be cheaper if you don't need to replace belts.

Proberly worse than that - reckon on an easy £1000 per engine and leg per year with Volvo, as David says ring Col for a great service at a much more sane price....

Re: Service costs on KAD43\'s

I have fully serviced KAD43's (550 hours). The cost of the service carried out by an authorised Volvo dealer (Peters) is £430 the pair for an intermediate service and £1100 the pair for a full service. These prices are if the services are done by the book as told by Volvo. You can save money on the major service by only getting things changed that actually need it, belts for instance. If you don't ask everything gets changed.

For 290 leg service is about £500 the pair carried out by an authorised Volvo agent although I get mine serviced by Dell key marine for around £250 the pair. This includes all bellows and oil but not anodes.
