All,

Are there any recomended places on the south coast for quality service at a reasonable costs? This is my first season of inboard boating. I have found Southwater marine very helpful, any feedback? Are they reasonably priced?

Boat - Mariah 268 (27.5' / 8.4m)
Mercruiser 5.7 V8 250HP
Bravo 3 leg with twin stainless

Boat lift scrub and relaunch - approx £250
Antifoul £250 - £300
Service incl leg £300 - £350

Winterise (if I choose to keep her our for a few weeks) £70 approx

All of these prices are +VAT

Appreciate any feedback,

Regards

Nick.

As and when you find someone you are happy with, let my site below know about it, it will then be a permanent record for all to see.

cheers

Nick, sounds about right to me, I've got a Black Z246 and have just finished stripping all the old antifoul myself (wanted to check the hull integrity underneath all that lot as I got her last summer). Just about to repaint (primer then antifoul) and that lot comes to about £250 for just the materials, OK so I'm probably going to spend more time and do more coats than another company but good to compare.

Also having the leg done by Southwater (mine's a Bravo one) and that's quoted around £350, although I am having the bellows and anodes done at the same time as I don't plan to take her out again anytime soon.

I'd say your prices seem pretty fair, Southwater were also very helpfull when I was buying (not from them) as they hold all the details of Mariah's in the UK having been the original suppliers, they told me quite a lot of things to look out for and their only interest in the boat was that I may possibly bring her to them one day for a service.

David Allen's the chap to speak too,

Let me know if you do find it cheaper elsewhere,

Steve...
