Maybe not of interest to regular forumites who obviously sail already, but to newcomers and novices who want to be able to see the wood for the trees.
The seminar will be two hours, completely free of charge, (so nobody is making any money out of this post!)
Feel free to tell your friends !
Blue Sky Marine, a new marine consultancy business based in Lymington, Hampshire, are providing a seminar entitled, “How to get involved with yachting – the clear and simple way!”
The seminar is open to all and it will take place at Lymington Town Sailing Club on Saturday 12th July from 9.30 to 11.30am.
The purpose of the event is to demonstrate just how easy it is to get involved in yachting, at a reasonable cost, without having to spend vast sums of money on a yacht.
The seminar will explain the RYA’s Sail Cruising training scheme which enables complete novices to start from scratch and learn in a structured, safe, affordable and enjoyable way. There will be an overview of some sailing schools based in Lymington who provide RYA training, as well as information about Lymington’s two active and prestigious clubs. There will be plenty of time to ask questions during and after the event.
Blue Sky Marine’s Director, Nick Hopwood said: “Since creating our new business, it is has become apparent that there are many people who would like to go sailing on yachts, but do not know how to get started. The seminar is open to all, including families, to show just how easy and inexpensive it can actually be. We can’t say the sky is the limit, but at least it can be clearly seen from the expanse of seas available to sailors!”
The seminar is free to attend and complimentary refreshments will be available from 9am. Attendees will be welcome to stay for lunch in the Club, with its superb view across the Solent.

Please note
The seminar will not cover sailing dinghies, power boating or motor cruising, although similar future events for these are being considered.
