I'm trying to compile a list of boats with SD hulls so I know what to look for... between 35-45 foot fibreglass, twin diesel with flybridge preferably.

So far I have

Tarquin Trader
Grand Banks(?)
Guy Couach
Powels
AquaStar
Some of the Birchwoods(TS390?)
Some of the early princess(Princess 35, 415?)
Hardy

Anyone think of any other models that routinely go for <100k? (I know the Hardy & Aquastar dont very often)

I think they would suit me better than a planing. I have not been on either yet, but if the weather is ok a very very nice gentleman is going to give me my first planing hull experience on saturday! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The Princess 35 and 415 are absolutely definitely medium/deep V planing hulls. The broker is an idiot
 
Hatteras, Ocean Alexander, Hi Star, President all made SD boats in 40-45' range which should be around £100k or so
Agree on Brooms. Although the more modern ones are planing hulls, they have keels which make them suitable for slow speed running as well. Have a look at Broom 37, 39 and Ocean 42

Always fancied that high up seating position. Brooms do seem to have a loyal following. All of the ones on yachtworld.com that are in my pricerange are from the early 70's and I was hoping for something a little more modern. There is one SD broom from 1990 that looks a little more interesting, but it's out of my pricerange.

All of these seem to make some very nice boats, but all out of my range (the ones on yachtworld anyway). Definately on the possible list if a well priced one turns up.

The hi star is made in Taiwan.. how well are these built?

Some of the very early ones. Princess 32,33,37 (Y hull) I think?
 
The Birchwood TS37 is a lovely boat, SD Hull, Very dry ride and extremely spacious and modern looking, Great value for money as you can get a 15 year old one in good condition for around about 100k

Guy Coach 16 m is a medium deep V boat. Very good sea boat based on a patrol boat heritage and built on the Atlantic coast. - For semi-d the Bayliner 32, 38 and 45 are reasonably priced, have great layouts and are much better than the reputation generated by smaller models. All three are available second hand arround in Europe.

Damn those brokers. This is the second time the same broker has got the wrong. I wish they would do their homework.

The 45 range looks good but out of my range. I can't find examples of the others!
