Sellotape adhesive: results

Dear All,

following on from this thread, I continued trying removing adhesive stuck to some new PVC window material and the top, the most successful stuff was:

Sticky Stuff remover from the local hardware store - as suggested by some.

I can confirm that the following were completely useless:
-cheap aftershave
-WD40

I did not try petrol as I drive a diesel /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif.

Acetone. Shifts anything, including latex gloves.

Strange - must be the cheap chinese sellotape I use then !!

Not true, I use Latex gloves and Acetone every day and most weekends. Have had a clove failure due to resins or Acetone.

Mmm - my high quality, superior grade B&Q cheap-as-chips latex gloves last a full 30 secs when using acetone.

[/ QUOTE ] I wonder if the B&Q versions are not in fact any kind of rubber but something altogether less chemically robust? Latex is supposed to be the best thing when using acetone.
