A good friend is, sadly, no longer fit enough to sail, and wants to sell his boat. For a variety of reasons, he isn't really capable of dealing with it himself, so I'm considering helping. As the price will be well into five figures, I'm thinking that a broker would be the best way to proceed. If it does happen, I'll have questions about that later.
I assume I'd need some sort of document to allow me to act as his agent to commission valeting and what have you, and deal with a broker. Would I need anything more complicated than a letter from him asking me to act on his behalf?
I wouldn't be paid and the boat is in the UK.
Thanks in advance
