Seized CQR hinge

If several goes with boiling water doesn't work, you might try heating it - but be careful not to melt the galvanising off it (if you have any left). Also, some have the tip weighted with a lead moulding, so don't go near that! Generally you seem to have little left to lose so heat and a few wacks with a sledgehammer (buffered through a wooden block) are viable options.

To allay your fears, keep thinking how good the new shiny anchor will look on the bow...

LOL! If that was the case I'd just leave it. Unfortunately, it's at an acute angle, or should that be an ugly one?

I'll try the boiling water and lump hammer trick, or maybe a blowtorch? If it doesn't work I'm no worse off and I can buy a new one.
