There were cutting up one boat recently on the the hard.
On the lower bit on the non tidal Medway that OG can access there is virtually no trace of old wrecks or unlicenced craft.

Unfortunately increasing amounts of bankside floating caravans, some expensive new builds , most installing scaffold landing stages/ mooring pins, all prohibited by various EA and council rules and regulations.
"Entrepreneurs" have been buying strips of footpath and dividing them up to sell on. Multiple owners making it virtually impossible for local council to enforce byelaws.
Once secluded and quiet stretches of the river bank have become little more than linear floating caravan parks.
Its the bankside gardens and associated detritus to make it " just like home" that is really hideous.
