In My experience Ball valves are usually stainless steel bodies and ball and the handles are steel and corrode .
Dont recall using SS in salt water service and in any case with a Blakes you can bung it more easily .
I admit a ball is better than a gate .
I have one in my CW intake but for the loos ???? you would need about 1 1/2 inches and what would you have as the skin fitting plastic ? or Bronze .? and how would you attach the ball - screwed ??? Difficult to remove Getting a bit expensive and complicated !!! compared with a Blake which has valve and skin fitting combined
