I am looking for a technical drawing of a See-Me radar enhancer. Mine is mounted on a quadrant at the top of the mast. The aerial is about two feet long and all that holds it is a flange through which the cable passes. The See-Me has a plastic thread about 18mm and 50mm long which is screwed into the flange. However the threaded section has snapped so now the see-me is gaffer taped horizontally at the top of the mast. I cannot glue it back together as there is not enough material and the forces of the boat and a 24m mast would be too much, that is why it snapped in the first place.

I need to design a clamp to secure it vertically but I really need a drawing otherwise I will have to go back up the mast with a set of callipers…I cannot easily remove it because the cable passes from the see-me straight down the mast and trying to find a white cable at the bottom…and I have no confidence that I would ever be able to re-thread it should I pull it all out.

My idea is to make a wooden block in two halves that I can screw together that will encompass the base and part of the quadrant. I assume that it will not detract from the signal if it grips the bottom 2 inches of the tube.

Are you looking for the diameter of the See-Me (sic) antenna? If so, AND, if it is the X-Band only version then this suggests it is 50mm. There is also a dual band version whose dimensions may be different.

Hmm that says that the threaded base is 1 inch diameter I am not convinced it did not look that big. But I need the length of the threaded section as well.

That link seems to suggest that the 1" thread is a standard "Sea-Me can be fitted to your boat using a standard 1-inch 14-thread per inch antenna mount"

That interesting. It might be possible to screw the remaining thread into a new mount. The trick is to get the wire through the hole.

With many mounts there is a slot specifically for that purpose I think, but yes, otherwise that's a potential nightmare.

You could use a suitable size stainless pipe clamp or two fitted to a short bracket, this would ot effect the cable route, clamps available in all sizes needed
