Relocating my bilge pump as it's in a terrible place. Removed it this evening, leaving the original timber 'mount' (Stick timber to hull, stick bilge pump to timber) where it was (It wont be in the way)

Now i'm not too sure what to stick the timber mounting to the hull with. The hull (or bilge, whatever) isin't dead smooth, i'm guessing that Isopon P40 (Fibreglass bits with resin mixed in) would do a good job as stuff sticks quite well to it...

Anyone tried it, or got a better suggestion? I do have some of that Bostik glue left for glueing RIB tubes, but it's very 'watery'

that's a fine idea - tho likely any silcony gloop'd hold it too. I needed to mount a heavy fire extinguisher on a steel locker back outside the boat, and didn't wanna drill through; so glued a bit of ply using some old roofing sealant & is solid as a rock.

Hi Naill (ALT) !

What I did was fibreglass a bit of timber in. It's a bit messy but it will last longer and give the timber more protection from rot.

You can get a fibreglass repair kit in most hardware shops, I got mine in Woodies. There's plenty in the kit for this kind of job.

Good Luck
