I'm trying to find a second hand replacement for our APEX 2.9 solid (GRP) floor inflatable dinghy that is reaching the end of its life. It must have lifting eyes as we keep it on davits. I keep searching but only large RIBS keep coming up. Any ideas where to look, or any recommended dealers? We really want a solid floor (GRP or aluminium).

On my dinghy, a smaller, fully inflatable one, there are eyes at each side of the bow, intended for towing. I made up a simple line with a hard eye in the middle and tied to the eyes. Same at the stern, going to eye bolts in the transom.

We had an XM265 which had the towing eyes at the bows, we added a permanent bridle to these. It had a wooden stern, we drilled a hole at each side and threaded a line through, this doubled as a lifting line and also allowed the dinghy to be tied alongside or across the stern.

When we were on the Guadiana we lifted the dinghy on the spinnaker halyard to keep it free of the large reeds that floated down river.
