Hi
Can anyone advise I have had my rigging replaced, and at the same time had a second forestay fitted the storage position is situated in my opinion in an awkward place in the middle of the side deck, my shrouds are set against the gunwale should I worry about this or is this the best place for it.

Presumably your second forestay is shorter than the shrouds. I would sugest you try attaching the second forestay to the chain plate of the shroud on the chosen side using shock cord ( bungee) to hold it tight against the shroud and hopefully out of the way. I can't think of a reason to park it halfway between the shroud and the mast just to get in the way. Tradesmen????

Mine clips to a staple just aft of the forward lower. It has a wheel-operated rigging screw at the lower end which enables me to adjust it to the correct length. I would not be happy with an arrangement that created a tripping hazard.

We had one fitted and as it was clearly going to be longer than the shrouds we had the lower section / screw adjustment made as removable - just so the stay could be stored at mast base and the lower bit down below.
We had a stainless 'hook' made to fit on the first spreader face, to ensure the stay could be led round that and therefore kept away from the mast wall.
