search function

Maybe I'm not keeping up, but what's happened to the search forums function?

Search me!! I am having difficulties with it.

It is useless now. Even if you click on it to get the search ybw.com/forums it picks up loads of indexing pages as well as the real information you want.

The way to get around this is go to google itself and on the advanced page type in ybw.com/forums/showflat on the search domains line then type in the words you want to search on.

Interestingly I've also found this picks up more recent posts than the ybw search page even though it is supposed to be powered by google.

My issue is that it doesn't seem to pick up older posts anymore - have these been deleted ?

The old posts are all still there, but the way google works, old posts that are not referenced drop out of its index.

Yes, manually. Go back through the forums if you know the rough date

Is it not possible that IPC IT have made another small mistake?......God knows there have been enough of them in the AHEM! number of years I've been coming here (yea I know sad old git and all that!)
The problem is, and always has been to gently persuede them of the error of their ways and to sort of nudge them into having a really good idea AND GOING BACK TO THE SEARCH ENGINE THAT WORKED PROPERLY.
