Hello all, has anyone replaced a seapanther engine in there sailing yacht? I'm looking to replace mine, I have a few questions.

What did you replace with?
What else did you have to change I.e prop, gearbox, engine mounts etc?

If anyone has changed a seapanther for a different engine would love to hear from you. Thanks Tom

Welcome

There is no "direct" replacement so you can choose whatever engine you want as you will need to either modify the beds or use fabricated adaptor brackets and replace the propeller to match your new engine/box combination. You will also find the exhaust will need replacement and probably the shaft and seal.

The most likely candidates are the Beta 30 or 35 depending on the boat. If you say what boat it is you will get more directly relevant advice on engine choice. Do you have a budget in mind?

It's for a nic 35, I just need a heat exchanger but I can get 1 from anywhere. Unless someone has an old engine in there garage. Thanks Tom

Can't help with the HE. A Beta 35 would be the best replacement engine. Is yours on the V drive or the later straight drive? I expect somebody has done the swap before and may well be worth talking to Beta or a good dealer/installer.

Whilst there may be restraints on propeller that will fit normally as it’s the propeller that drives the boat assuming rhat you will need a new propeller is a given

You should be able to retain your V drive and use some custom made brackets to mate to the existing beds, beta offer a V drive as well. Expect the prop will be OK as the power and revs of the 35 are similar to your existing engine. If you are on the south coast I can recommend a good Beta installer.
