Sealing stop cock threads

Agree with boatbuilder, I attach stop cock using PTFE tape, before sealing and pulling down a new through hull.

Solution mandated by Hunter Boats to satisfy the RCD requirements was to seal the sea cock threads with Araldite. I suppose this solves the immediate issue of RCD compliance - but defers the problem until the sea cock must be maintained.

Does the Dowty washer go inside the female thread befoe the male is screwed in - so that the end of the male thread is forced against the washer to make a seal?
