Sealing joints in fuel system

When I removed the inlet to to fuel filter, by undscrewing the crimped pipe tail, there was a sealing compound on the thread. What should I use to re-assemble as without I think some air is getting in. I have red Hemmatite or blue Locktite. What is best, please?

Have always used it on all joints in the fuel system.

Hylmor fixed our fuel leak. Now applied to all joints for two seasons without problems

Personally I use Jetlube - V2 because as well as being diesel fuel and gas resistant, it is suitable for use in potable cold water systems. It's a non setting thread sealant. Seems to be quite multi-purpose.
