Hi All
does anyone know of a company that reseals deck hatches in the Kent/London area as ours have developed a leak and to replace would be rather expensive like for like about £400 each.
thanks

Any reputable boatyard ought to be able to do the job, but it can be very labour intensive. Depending upon where the leak is coming from, it could be a DIY job. Leaks through the glass to frame seal are probably not, but frame to deck joint, where the sealant has failed, could be. I have to say that I have done this a couple of times and it takes quite a bit of patience to avoid distorting the frame as you lift it out. Then it is a question of cleaning up the frame and the deck, applying sealant ( Sikaflex tends to be the choice), re-fitting and screwing down. My own experience is varied. Job one went like a dream, the second effort ( possible overconfidence) was an absolute B****.

Can definitely recommend this company for sealing materials if you feel up to having a go yourself - they seem quite helpful on the phone.

May well be an idea not to use Sikaflex, it's too adhesive and sets too hard.
I've been recommended the more flexible Arbomast BR Butyl sealing compound for windows.
And apparently it doesn't all go off when you open the tube.
