Sealine have an open weekend going on, this weekend.
I was luckly enough to get an trip out on the F46, wow !
I wish, I could afford one, it was very impressive, going full chat (under 28 knots) we went from hard lock from port to starboard, no chine riding, handled like a boat half its size.
Had a good play on the joystick control, so easy a 10 year old could berth this boat.
Sorry if this seems like a Sealine advert, but go down and have ago yourself.

Going full chat at 28 knots?? Not really quick - was it flat out?? By the way, I've owned a lot of different Sealine boats, and only one has shown any inclination to chine ride (there's a pun in there somewhere) - it's not the 255, the 290 or the 310, the F33, the S37 or F37 and certainly not the S48. By all accounts it's not the F43/44 or F42/5 either. I'll say no more.........

My 255 was a sod for it. Maybe it has something to do with the way it is loaded or even driven, it was my first boat. have to say my 310 has never done it.

does seem slow for Sealine. Thought 30 knots was standard at least with the right engines.

"going full chat" (under 28 knots)

Cracking boat, most impressed with one at boat show and a radical change from the
"me too" jelly mould designs from all the play it safe sheep boat builders out there!

However, there are folks out there to whom top speed is the be all and end all of boating and complaints about the top speed had been voiced.Think you you will find that particular boat was hull number one and stuff was being modified/moved to get that extra couple of knots.
Personally would rather have a boat hull with bit heavy layup that lost a couple of knots than an eggshell with worries what the surveyor will find when time to sell boat.

Maybe, possibly the same model I just sold???????? If so I agree with everyone's views on this model by experience.

Maybe it would have gone faster, the tanks were full with 6 on board, but throttles were full down. I guess it weights in around 13 tonnes, I was just impressed how you could throw it about, not sure how my F43 would do in the same conditions, will have to give it a go...
I liked it much more than I wanted too....

F46

Got a ride on it today at the Sealine show at Port Hamble.

I want one and one day, when I win the lottery....perhaps. The joystick drive was absolutely brilliant (having never seen/operated one before). Really smooth ride and throwing it around (Hard to Port followed by Hard to Stbd, follwed by Hard to Port etc) was fantastic. She leaned over, but it felt so controlled. SWMBO was very impressed!

Yes - flat out was about 28 knots, cruisng at about 22 knots. Difference (according to the onboarrd fuel measuring gubbins) was 190l per hour and 140l per hour respectively. Full tanks approx 1500l (wow). Have to admit, classic case of opening the throttles and saying £10......, £20....... £30.....etc. But I guess if you can afford a £0.5 million boat in the first place this shouldn't be so much of a problem!!!!!!

They are bringing out the new F42 later in the year at around £300,000 where you lose the lower dinette but gain three dedicated berths in the after cabin (think of the SC38 but bit more room). Can't afford that one either, but if the ride is similar and same joystick control, it will be good.

Now, where did I put my lottery ticket :)
