As I now live less than a mile from the Solent I have decided that I don't need such a big first boat as i was considering previously as I won't need to kip on it much. I also want to get a bit more experience before spending a big wad!
Been to look at the S25 and like it but am worried it's a tad underpowered with the diesel. Sealine quote 28 knots which is OK but people I speak to tell me 23 knots is more realistic with a couple of people on board. I would really like to be able to cruise at about 23 knots, not be flat out at it. Anyone know why you can't order one with a bit more power - a D4 210 would seem to suit it very well. I also like the Monterey 250 and that comes with a 240hp Yanmar for similar money and the promise of 35 knots.
