Evening all,
am I correct in assuming that the hydrolic motor that trims the outdrive on my boat also operates the two trim tabs.
Thanks in advance.

Is this on a KAD32? If so, isn't there a resettable trip on the side of the black box on top of the engine. There are also some relays under the cover of this box that may also play a part if your trim is not working.

CLB, yes it is a KAD32 there is a black box on top of the engine and I have pressed the reset button. I'll pop the top off it this weekend and have a look. The leg is stuck in the fully down position at -4 so at least its in a good position. The leg does not move up or down. I've had this problem before and it was a loose wire in the trim switch on the throttle control but I've checked this and all is good. The instrument display panel is working. I have also checked the power supply to the switch and it is receiving 13.5v. I did forget to check the continuity of this switch, perhaps that could be duff. I find it hard to believe that both the up and down relays have gone at the same time at the stern near the pump. (hope not, they are so hard to get to). I was told that there is another relay behind the clocks on the dash. I couldn't find one but the light was very poor as was the access unless I unplug all the clocks to get in there.

No it won’t , the reset fuses are for the engine , the main fuse for the trim motor is behind the black box , it has 2 thickness red cables going to it with a 10mm size nut to each post .

Nice to see you Paul. Can i poke around in this area safely if i isolate the batteries. Also, If the motor reservoir is low on hyd fluid will this stop it operating.

[QUOTEElectrical connectors on the relays on the leg trim pump need a clean up . There are also relays under the dash which may be prone to failure.[/QUOTE]
Thanks for that info and the helpful image Martyn.
