phone lines off as well.

Shame as I reckoned that they were on the way out when they dropped the small cruisers.

Their big advantage over Fair/prin/seeker was that they produced small cruisers that were affordable to the family moving up from a speedboat which were not in the competition's portfolio and once hooked on the brand, owners frequently traded up in size , staying with the Sealine brand. Thus also resulting in a healthy supply of 2nd & 3rd owner boats.

Latterly they were in direct competition with Fair/Prin at the 35ft level (and whatever any mag says £200k is not a starter boat) and were not of the same level (especially considering the reputation from early years, rather than the great quality of later years)

till think they would have been better to have stayed in the 21-35 ft cruiser range without trying to go large.
But... what do i know?

Are some of you completely stupid?

I did NOT say I was glad sealine are going down.

I said 'I'm glad I always thought they were pants and never bought one'

Big difference. There won't be any apologies for your inability to understand English, nor would I expect one from people who jump to conclusions due to a lack of intelligence.

I agree that they should have stayed in the smaller market, I started with a speed boat, then bought the S23 and was hooked, I then traded up to one of the last S28's so it was a good way to get into boating and moving up through the range as finace's would allow.

Very sorry to see them go down, I hope someone steps in and keep it british.

Well this is a forum and people don't tend to use commas etc as they should. If we have all got the wrong end of the stick it is because you handed it to us.

I am glad as I thought you were an A@@@hole. Please put the commas where you think they should be in the previous sentence. ;)

I think that the biggest problemn is not that boat ownership has suddenly become expensive, rather that a few years ago we got to the end of an era of it being relatively affordable, since when some have got out, some have carried on and new entrants have, by and large, been discouraged.

I accept your apology :rolleyes::D

Only to the semi literate. 'Mate'

A comma is the difference between helping your uncle, jack, off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse

Regardless it's a bit unnecessary to revel in someone's misfortune. You might be relieved you didn't buy one for a variety of reasons such as warranty or parts availability (which hopefully will be resolved) but I'm not sure someone would be glad they didn't like them because they failed.

However you intended it to sound it came across as "I'm glad, I never liked them anyway."

There will be very few motor boaters who hasn't owned, contemplated owning or enjoyed being on a Sealine. A good number of this forums core contributors currently own Sealines.

Christ, it's easier to negotiate with terrorists than you lot!

Henryf, I did actually comment on how sad I was for the owners on the forum, or are you blind too?

I'm glad I always thought of Sealines as a bit pants now...

Sorry for all you owners nevertheless...

That isn't revelling in others misfortune, it's being thankful I never liked Sealines, as the ones I saw looked a bit second rate quality wise. It's an opinion I'm quite entitled to, and frankly, if you don't like it Henry, you can do one. This is like being in a locked room with one retard after another coming along saying the same thing, without knowing what the hell they're talking about. Seriously, read the fricking post, it's not offensive in any way.

'Ding Ding' Seconds out...C'mon guys, back to boating eh. It's gonna be a lovely, sunny and warm weekend Yay!! :D:D

NoRegrets is invited to the funeral of a friend of his wife.
Everyone else is paying their respects, and offering condolences.
NoRegrets says:
"Sorry for your loss, but I always thought she was a bit of a minger - I'm glad I never went out with her".
A mini-riot breaks out.

Regarding No Regrets. i read his post and i was´nt that upset about it i must say. Maybe he could have been writing it in a kinder way but i read it as "sorry for Sealine and the owners, but i was never a big fan of their boats" correct?
I personally feel very sorry for Sealine, staff and owners. But on the other hand for me, it´s not strange that it was Sealine and not Pr, Su Fa that went down among the UK builders. Some good boats but the whole price-design, finish etc package at least for me was not good enough for the whole range if i compare with the 3 others..

Deep breath... Boat manufacturing is, by comparison to popular automotive, a cottage industry. The volume just isn't there to refine every element of design or manufacture. Faults are pretty much assured, makes used buying arguably the smarter option? So now its warranty that separates the selling propositions. How to drive out cost, easy, have a new option. Take a look into any marina; compared to a car park (no, not airport ones!) it's like still life! I've managed a few trips out in the Solent so far, billy no mates time and complete freedom. Perfection, to be honest! A solution to a fuel and boat cost challenge to me is blinking obvious... Offer a no power train option, moor it up and enjoy boating & pontoon life with loads more room, no fuel etc, etc, etc bills. Sure don't suit me but it would be low money and there's always the charter blaster option to chase away left over funds and inevitable cabin fever!!
