Doing plenty of research on 45 to 50 footers with flybridges. The Sealine F46 ticks a lot of boxes but also fails in some too. The lack of a lazarette seems shocking given its size and how it would be generally used. The interior fitout (not the layout, that's amazing for a 46 footer) is something to get used to.

But...

It's good value compared to a Fairprinseeker.

Obviously I want a Phantom 48 / Sunseeker Manhattan 50/ Princess 50 mk3 from a similar era (2010ish) so can you guys with far more experience than me tell me if the cost difference does make all the difference.

Is the Sealine a good boat but a tad more utilitarian (like a Beneteau) or are there other issues other than where to store the seabobs?

Again, thanks for your help and experience.

It can’t have a lazerette with that drive train , but if you have a boat with a lazerette you won’t get the accommodation.

The Sealine has quite unique styling. It is marmite. Some like it, me included, many don’t, and prefer the mor3 traditional styling of Fair/Prin/Sun. These brands have a stronger brand equity, and will thus command higher prices. Sealine are renowned for their clever packaging, but you are right to highlight the Lazerette. On a boat this size there is alwayes the need for storage. I think the F46 is on IPS drives? If so this is another marmite spec. In a 19 year old boat, I would want to see the service record, and a very thorough survey.

I believe that there were some issues with windscreens leaking and the flybridge overhang that needed some remedial work on the early F46 models (going by the sealine forum) so worth doing some research to check this out to be certain.

I cant deny that Princess do a higher quality fit out.......... or used to .

But often as not the Sealine is good value for interior space / accommodation.

My F33 has a very good lazarette - but its on outdrives . I some ways the older boats can be better and they do scrub up well.

I think the OP is looking at 9 or 10 year old boats ?

Sealine built good boats in the main - finely engineered but good for what they were designed for. They were very good at getting the most out of available space and whilst the interiors may not be quite on a par with Princess/Fairline/Sunseeker they are hard wearing and better than a Beneteau IMHO.

All good stuff, thanks guys. There was some light moaning on here regarding the performance of the Zeus pods in terms of efficiency and performance. Has that been borne out over time or have they proved to be within normal parameters compared to other pod drives?

Not much on Zeus on here, more about Volvo. Might find more on American sites?

Graham you might want to join the Sealine forum. Zeus experience on there is pretty positive. Cummins engines very tough, well regarded. One issue is liimited service agents esp compared to VP, so check availability of local services wherever you plan to keep the boat.

Edit sorry you said F46 not T46. Ignore me!

Sealine T47 has a large lazarette with laundry and larger aft deck but only a crew cabin. Same finish at T46.

IMO, the interior finishes of Princess and Fairline are superior to Sunseeker, but that includes matters of taste.
Someone did once tell me (but 20 years ago) that Sealine had thinner gelcoat.
