Sealine dump Excel

Not too surprising. I think the more interesting question is will both London boat shows survive the next 15 months....

The problem this will bring them is the lack of confidence this move will bring potential buyers.

I can't believe they've chosen to do this of their free will, any more than the big work force lay offs.

The difference is that this will send out a very visible sign to would be buyers...

This doesn't seem to unresonable to me, although like burgandyben said why not scale down. Its always surprised me how you can have three shows so close to each other and still make sense of it from an orders point of view rather than a PR/market support perspective. The show must cost companies hundreds of thousands of pounds just in terms of time, logistics let alone the actual cost of being there. I can imagine it will have a big positive effect on their cash flow.

at least I wont have to avert my eyes to the eyesore they had at sibs this year. The SC35 is not the best looking boat in the world as many of you will agree but they managed to make an ugly boat even uglier by painting it dog poo brown----why??

Ewww. The white hull with the brown hardtop and cream seating looks okay, but is that really a brown hull /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Doesn't matter what colour it is. It should feature in the ugly boat section of mbm every month. It makes ugly boats look good. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

There is a very thin line between Designing to be different and by trying too hard to design something different. The design and colour scheme of this boat IMO falls into the 'trying too hard' catagory . Absolutely awful.

Wel it certainly does come across as a strange move.
I remember talking to the MD of a company i used to work for when we used to exhibit at the NEC. I asked him how much money did we usually make directly from the show.. And his reply was that it always COST us money..

The reason why we continued to appear was that in our industry it was important to show your face and keep the 'business' and potential customers aware that you were still around and what products you had to offer.

If the boat industry is anything like what our business was, rumour gets round like wildfire and that could negetively affect their business..

I'd be interested to know the full facts as to why they aren't exhibiting.. Very strange..

Did the press release say alternative marketing.

May be cheaper to fly serious customers to the Med for a sea trial, wine and dine them and fly them home next day. Better than trying to sell mid winter in London, with your competion next door.

Awlful or not they certainly seem to be selling there are quite alot of them on the south coast. I think they must be outselling all other 35 footers.
