sealey needle nose grease dispenser - how to connect to the gun

Doesn't it just screw on in place of the normal grease nipple connector

Perhaps a photo or two showing this "extra collar" ?????
You say it fits inside the spring loaded outer collar then ask, "where is it fitted?" .......... inside the spring loaded outer collar is the obvious answer

pic of the end of the hose at the end of my grease gun
i can take the female end off, but then i am left with a hole that i need to screw something into

and a pic of the needle end, this has a male nipple that fits into the existing female end of my grease gun
next to it is the extra collar, that does fit inside the needle end and has a thread at the facing end

the female end at the end of the hose might fit this thread, but no way to tighten it up as it will sit inside the collar
and the threaded end is not long enough to screw through the extra collar and then connect to the end of my hose anyway

suggestions ?!

I think I can see an obvious answer. No idea which bit of your explanation refers to which of the three items you've shown, so I can't be sure.

I had a look at my grease guns

I assumed that when the end was removed the Sealey gadget would screw on in its place But all three have differnt threads anyway.
The Sealey fitting does not appear to be threaded in your picture ????

Cheapy on the left , what I though was decent one until a plastic part broke in the middle and a heavy industrial one on the right

The alternative is to get a needle attachment with a Zerk fitting on the end which will just plug in.

Not sure why you've dismantled the actual connectors, they're supposed to stay in one piece. IIRC there's a BSP thread at the end of the metal or flexible tube.

Because it looked as though the Sealy fitting would screw on in place of just the end part.

I did take the whole end off the one on the left but it had some sort of thread lock/ sealant on it . I dont think it was supposed to be removed and it' will probably leak now. It was fairly fine thread which I dont think is BSP

The needle nose dispenser simply fits onto the end of the grease gun, without needing to us the extra collar. The extra collar screws onto the end of a grease gun, after the existing end has been removed then the needle nose adapter fits onto the extra collar. I would expect the thread on the extra collar to be different in some way to a standard grease gun and the "extra collar" is some form of adaptor.

If it fits onto your grease gun without the extra collar, just use it as it is, no need to try and find a way to fit both parts to the existing nozzle.

Iirc take it all to bits and one of the sleeves fits inside the other with the spring, then you slide said sleeve back against the spring and push the grease gun end into the nipple, then let go of the sleevs and it slids up under spring pressure and this supports the grease gun end and stops it falling off/leaking

'The Sealey fitting does not appear to be threaded in your picture' correct

Lyna
i'll see if there is enough space to leave the extra collar inside the end of the needle, but that way there is no need for it to have a thread, so possibly just and adaptor that i don't need

yes, but there is still some twist possible in the connection and as you know / can see that causes some spillage
was hoping that the extra collar somehow stabilised the connection better

so, can i get a needle fitting that screws directly into the end of the hose ?

If you unscrew the needle from the fitting, will it screw directly onto the grease gun ?

hm, obvious :)
i'll try that later today
This would solve the problem .. just plugs nito the normal coupler

BTW ITYWF that the "extra collar" you referred to is an alternative to the one already fitted to the needle to make it compatible with different guns

That doesn't look like the OPs
