seaflo electric toilet conversion

A service kit is only about 30 odd quid. Those type of electric toilets are pretty noisy something to think about!

More complication means more hassle & expense when (that's when) it goes wrong, I'd spend the money on something else. But then I got fed up with the electric freshwater flushing via a macerator into a big holding tank set up on my boat and now I have a separator loo, not for everybody but there's nothing whatsoever that can go wrong...:)

thanks guys, my thinking was an electric loo would be easier to explain to non boaty visitors,I really don't need any more things to go wrong to add to my repair list

I went through the same thinking as you. The Jabsco unit is expensive but the cheaper version (Seaflo) appears to be much the same thing. Research led me to Youtube videos which nicely highlighted how very loud the units are. I guess its the macerator but you can pretty much guarantee that the boat if not also the rest of the marina will be awake after using it at night. I decided to stay with manual.

There are other makes of electric heads so if switching out the manual I would be tempted to go upmarket - plenty of posts on the mobo forum on merits of pricy brands though but I guess more like 800 not 145. Leesan Spelling?seems a name to look up maybe for more insightful advice.
