The flags seem to have bits of wire holding them out. The water in the marina indicates that.

the valve looks ok kidda. well done. just keep it moving every couple of weeks. best wihes with the meetup with roy(regards to him and val). been there done that. youre still best with ptfe than silicone. give it a few days and take a 1/4 turn on the hose clips.
