Sea Start rescue

How far is it from their nearest base to where you sail? Your money may be better spent on engine maintenance courses and tools.
Sailing from Falmouth and as for courses not necessary as I am a fully qualified marine engineer with a class 1 cert of competency . Engine is properly maintained but there could always be a rope round the prop or spares that you don’t have .

Yachtforce Charters use it for their fleet, which was handy when a throttle cable was assumed snapped on our way back from Weymouth to Yarmouth. They gave really good service,

To my shame he revealed that it had just come adrift in the pedestal box, but we'd had good fun with the youth stood downstairs being a remote throttle operator.

Isn't that what the RNLI are for? Or sails? It is all part of the great tapestry of adventure that is life ;0)

And also would recommend - used once, Boat was maintained quite well but accidents/ breakdowns happen as the more experienced people will realise and short of having spares for everything on board and tools to basically dismantle the entire boat and all it's systems you may find you need them. They were also helpful in recommending approved engineers for things outside their own normal service.

I have a subscription with them and have called them out twice. They were quick, polite and fantastic. They even made a note of my movements for the day to be on hand if I had further issues. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

(I do not need any lectures on how I maintain my boat; you may be an amateur or professional engineer but I am not)

They helped us out when we had problems getting onto a temporary mooring. We were not even members at that time and no payment was asked for.

No not used, yes a member, and yes good value.

I can fix most things, and have most tools on the yacht.
But what if not?

What if I am incapacitated in some non-life threatening way that doesnt justify the RNLI (yes also a member) or a PAN.
SeaStart for me is there incase the crew/wife need basic assistance.

So its mostly peace of mind.
