I will buy you a beer (or maybe even one of your famous boxes of wine!) if you deliver on this! :encouragement:

Good point, would it be possible to also arrange some of those Spot the Babe types from the mobo forum pl? You could perhaps go a smidge higher on the 25C if you can :encouragement:

I will leave it to you to get Roger on the case for those little "extras"!

Sorry but don't rely on me to order the wind!!

Returned from N Brittany 1 week early to do the Wayfarer Western championships and Poole week (also got our Mk 4 Wayfarer out of effectively a 3 year retirement/rest). Doing absolutely rubbish with problems of missed races due to cant find all the bits, rigging problems and general lack of practice.

Today all races cancelled due to high winds - hence don't rely on me to organise the wind - should of stayed in N Brittany!!

Now have Clapton back on board as No 1 Daughter and my no1 Ex wife have agreed to look after his 4 children for that weekend so No1 Son can make it with his Guitar. If anyone else wants to bring an instrument it could be fun but issuing a noise warning from our boat "Janes Buoy" plus invite to all for an after dinner sing along if it all works out.

You can count us in fairly definitely now. I'll let you know number of persons on board soon. We will be leaving from Hamble on the Friday and will go on to St. Vaast on the Sunday if the weather serves.

Calypso still hoping to be there, weather permitting. The new ssr certificate arrive last week and all the VHF licensing sorted. Though I am having trouble getting this new to me boat ready. On the weekend sent a mate up the mast with a spare bulb to change a blown one. Got up there only to find it was a 10 watt festoon type .. But with dimpled ends not the usual pointed ends. So motored up the harbour to Chichester Marina to buy the correct bulb to find they did not have one! Then when waiting to lock out the marina the impeller decided to fail and had to turn off engine immediately. Managed to get back to a pontoon and changed it for a spare on board. The impeller that failed had only done 3 hrs of service. It failed by the rubber coming away from the brass inner. Lucky it appears there was no overheating damage probably because the engine was only ticking over at the time.

Is that a 1GM 10, a common problem a while ago

Been contacted today by Cherbourg Marina asking to confirm dates and list of boats.

I will soon start to prepare a spreadsheet listing such information that you are happy to share and distribute this in week running up to the Sept 19th weekend.

This normally includes all formites names on any one boat, total numbers on each boat, boat name, type of boat and length (for marina charges!), Mobile contact number, e mail address, departure port, date and approx. time (this helps any first time channel virgins to feel they will have boats in approx. vicinity). I do have the details of the previous participants but please let me know if there has been any changes.

Fergus is sorting menu and cost. Please bring Euros as we settle the YC evening meal as one bill. For last few years we have suggested that the crews vary what table they sit at - this helps people to be able to talk to a fresh face at the evening dinner instead of the ones they have already been with for 12 hrs or so on channel crossing - for some reason a popular move for my crew!!!

Just hoping for a nice breeze and a sunny afternoon for the Pontoon party. Usual format bring a bottle and nibbles. I will start the drinks stock off and make sure we have more beer than last year.

May have 2-3 people bringing guitars so if you play bring yours.

There are a number of boats with spare places.

Bob c has now kindly added his name to the list offered one of his double berths if anyone wants to travel in the luxury on a 49' (there is always someone with a bigger one isn't there!!)
