Plan A is to take just a few to CI first then Cherbourg

But

Plan B is promised No 1 son a weekend on boat and if he can get the Friday off will be up for Thursday drink and CI will be a different weekend.

Health Warning if son on boat beware of Clapton like sounds emanating from boat as he never travels without a guitar.

The new facilities at Cherbourg are still immaculate. There are now additional toilet facilities actually on the Pontoon for those that cant make it round to the main ones!! Fergus has reserved the YC for the evening meal.

I'm getting worried about how much wine stowage space that will give me if each of the crew demands an equal share. Skipper's word is law, I say. So it is all mine.... :cool:
 
A new "no go" zone has been created in the Grande Rade - the big outer harbour of Cherbourg - just to the east of the port channel marker at the entrance to the inner harbour. A site for constructing wind turbines, I understand.

Anyone going to Cherbourg ought to acquaint themselves with its location. Details are given in the May updates for the Reeds almanac: http://www.reedsnauticalalmanac.co.uk/updates (I think you need to create a login before you can view it).
 
I was hoping to be a late entrant, awaiting crew to get permission to come, as it is his birthday, and my son isn't able to confirm yet.
He has just confirmed that other plans have been made.
So if I can find one or two who want to leave from Weymouth I will come put me down as a possible.

Unfortunately, Tinkerbell is going to have to be a dropout. Delays entering the canals have caused our plans to be pushed back by a couple of weeks so we won't be out at the other end until at least the end of September.
Ah well, there's always next year!

Hello all

looks like it will be 3 of us, youngest son seems to have gone off sailing, he might change his mind if there is a meal at the end of it but as he girl friend doesn't like sailing that seems unlikely!

Have you ordered the wind/wx yet?

Can we please have 17 kts from the NW all day on the Friday and 20kts from the SW all day on Sunday. Flat calm on Saturday. Warm sun all three days please, with max temps of 25Deg C.

I will buy you a beer (or maybe even one of your famous boxes of wine!) if you deliver on this! :encouragement:
