Unfortunately it is term time - going Friday after school and getting back Sunday late is just too much for the boys (it is pretty hard work for me - I much prefer a Friday crossing and will probably do that again this year.

Especially as we are now in Ocean Village that will add 3 hours onto the crossing, I may even aim for Yarmouth on Thursday night and cross from there on Friday.

Previous threads were to agree the date and answer any questions - mostly those that missed the original date thread asking for the date so that they can put it in their diaries.

I usually start the "official" thread in early June. In a few weeks time I will add a summarised list of participants and total crew numbers. Hopefully this thread will get additions or comments that keep it bumped onto the first page so less chance of people missing it due to being away on sailing/summer holidays.

Early September I produce an Excel spreadsheet with list of participants including contact details and departure port/time. I send this only to private e mail address. I use an edited version of this list with no personal details for the marina so that everyone can get the marina discount. I do have previous participants mobile numbers and e mail addresses but if those have changed please let me know. Likewise if you now do not want this info distributed to other participants please let me know and I will delete it. Obviously only send your personal details by this forums PM system. This enables people to contact those leaving at similar times and ports and if necessary check their passage planning. Its good if this cruise encourages newbees to do their first channel crossing however there is no official "convoy" merely a few that wish to co-ordinate arrangements.

Departure and personal details in early September will be fine as inevitably some changes may be necessary.
