I vaguely recall (though a haze of red wine and Laphroaig) that everybody agreed there should be another one and that, following recent custom, it should be a neapy weekend in mid September. Probably the weekend of 8th or 15th, depending on the tides?
I also have an even vaguer recollection of considerable enthusiasm for a pre-meeting meeting on the Friday in St Vaast, as it worked so well last time.
It's all a bit of a blur, really. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
We better go again, if we do it often enough we should be abe to assemble some sort of composite memory. Are you going to start work on the domestic controller? Cos I've already obtained outline planning permission!
Negotiations have already begun and the early indications were favourable. However, I have since been handed a long list of concessions that are expected in return, starting with "Management demands a weekend shopping in New York with her mates" and going downhill from there.
This could be a long, slow process but I am hopeful of a positive outcome /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.
In June tout le monde is busy doing normal summer sailing stuff like family cruises. Cherbourg trip is end-of-season coz more 'butters are about, kids are back at school/college, more chance of geting moored up together, restaurants have room, etc.
I thought that might be the reason but overcrowding dosent seem to stop groups arriveing. The Resurants and cafes now that is a good point!!!Good time January and september!!
I wonder if i can get a place there for next winter???
I take it that your Aegean trip is part of the payment rather than the cost within all this - as mine? Whilst clearly this won't be proper sailing on a par with a Cherbourg weekend ir might offer some practice opportunities!

That's about it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Mrs jhr likes being out on the water so long as (a) it's sunny and (b) she's not being thrown about too much. I haven't mentioned the Meltemi....
Stop press: Having e-mailed the Cherbourg dates to her an hour or so ago, I've just received the following reply:
"I think you should do the same as last year and make a long w/e of it". (i.e. go to St Vaast as well as Cherbourg).
I think she's been drinking... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
