Hi,
I'm looking for information on places where it would be practical to dry a 36' fin keeler for bottom cleaning & anodes outside the Clyde.

I'm aiming to use Tarbert (Argyll) this "off-season" but wondering about alternatives for next time, if overwintering beyond the Mull.

Thanks

Can't think of any scrubbing posts per se. But any drying harbour wall or slipway would do the trick.

From memory Eigg has one. So does Tobermory.

Tobermory is the only place I’ve seen boats drying out alongside , a couple of fishing boats berthed there dry out every tide alongside he stone pier and bilge keelers dry out on the beach.
I’ve heard of people drying out for a scrub at Craignure as well but don’t know any details.

Eigg has a drying wall on Galmisdale Pier. Ardvasar boatyard (Skye) has a couple of posts to lean against. I’ve seen a boat dry out at Flowerdale (Gairloch).

I had the same question this summer while at Plockton. It has a good tidal range but the harbour wall only gets around a metre deep at HWS, so no good there. Consensus seemed to be that Broadford (Skye) was the closest place.
