Might be a funny question, but this years plan is to take out our old and knackered car full of boat stuff to La Coruna where we have overwinter the boat and then scrap the car there. A couple of questions whats involded in scrapping a car overseas as regards the car reg paperwork and how do I find a car scrapyard in La Courna prior to leaving the UK, tried web search but no luck, apart from asking someone local at the marina when I get there?

Presumably you are in a marina ? Ask them by email.

There are legit scrapyards in Spain which issue paperwork to enable Spanish cars to be removed from the registration system. Suggest you ask for local help to find this, get the paperwork and then use it as back up, if necessary, to getting the registration cancelled with DVLA.

We came to Spain with a uk-reg car, and scrapped it out here with no problems. We took it to an authorised scrapyard, called a 'desguace' in Español, got a certificate (and a bit of money), sent it to DVLA, and heard no more about it. It was a simple job, and didn´t need fluent spanish.
