Scottish Cruising

My choice would be as follows, good / poor forecast I would depart the Crinan into Loch Fyne and first port of call would be Tarbert then through the Kyles of Bute calling at Rothesay then onto Millport -Isle of Cumbrae. Then to Arran - choice of Lamlash - Brodick or Lochranza. maybe explore a few sea lochs during times whilst on passage.
From Arran either onto Campbeltown then around the Mull back to Crinan if time and weather allows or sail back to Ardrishaig.
Good forecast - then the world is your oyster leaving the Crinan going North, the limit factor being time, include Oban and Tobermory though.

Even if the forecast is bad go west and not east - fewer locks (2, both operated by lockkeepers) and so much better scenery - September can be lovely too, perhaps expecially this year?

There have been other posts on this quite recently too where someone was given lots of ideas

Definitely West.

Jura, Islay, Colonsay . . .

It's endless, the world's your mollusc in the West.
