Scottish Charter Company for Sale

Most of the charter and visitor boats in this area chunter up and down inside a triangle from Jura to Oban and Tobermory.. This is slowly changing as more facilities are built and the adventurous head out of the sound of Mull.

Caution- if going beyond Ardnamurchan, there be dragons, few pontoons and moorings...

What we find is that the increase in "facilities" means that the more out of the way anchorages are quieter than ever. Win win.

"The marina is very accessible with excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and Europe. The company also has its offices situated at the marina, which is ideal for greeting customers and from a marketing point of view."

Obviously concerned about after the referendum.

The only ones concerned are south of the border. After the INDY-REF non residents of Scotland will need to pay to sail in our fine waters, or they can continue in the solent going in circles around the Isle of Wight...............how exciting.

I've chartered twice, with friends, from Isle of Skye Yachts. Both were very enjoyable, and I think we were alongside a pontoon once in the middle of each week, for a few hours both times, to fill up with water; at Ullapool and Kyleakin. The Utter Hebrides are easily accessible, and a rather special cruising area.

A "gross profit" of £118k on turnover of just £181k sounds awfully good - a gross profit of 65%. Running costs of just £63k can't cover much in the way of boat depreciation, repairs/renewals, marina fees and office rents let alone advertising and salaries
Suspect real Profit Before Tax is somewhat slimmer
I don't think "Gross profit" should be confused with profit.
I think "gross margin" is a better term. The biggest expense is probably salries which are likely to be after GM, and other overheads off what's left.
The 63k probably only pays actual outlay on stuff like parts, fuels, supplies and other consumables.
