Just wondered how many realised this was on this weekend at Kip Marina

http://www.kipmarina.co.uk/land-sea-and-air

Nice way to see quite a few new/used boats and other boatie products.

Bought my current boat 4 years ago at this show (without setting out to buy a boat that day)

Ever since, my wife is not that keen on me going to the show without her...

35% off the asking price perhaps :-)

Oh dear, is that a joke or have I missed something?

I can't say I'm an expert on boat prices but today I looked at a new Fairline Targa 38, fully loaded at 380k and a 6 month old Princess V52 at 750k. So a 2005 Princess 42 flybridge at 230k asking price can't be all bad, unless there's loads of these available elsewhere for much less money.

Just an update on the boat show which ran from Friday till Today. All in pretty good considering there was no rain for a start, I managed over for a few hours today and yesterday. I was particularly impressed by the Raymarine stand, I really like their new plotters with the ipad connectivity, making a repeater easily used anywhere on the boat. There are some good deals available on the old model kits bundled with radar but the new technology seems like the way to go. Left me thinking about the next upgrade, cockpit/flybridge upholstery or plotter/radar, something to ponder..

Anyway, I was offered a go on the jetski/flyboard kit but bottled it, looked like great fun though.

That is a reasonable asking price imho - dropped 30k in the last 3-4 years since previously up for sale @ £259k

Yes, that's what I thought but does this mean that some on here think it could be bought for 150k? I'd like to know what Volvopaul thinks would be a good price.

I will point out that I have no connection with the boat in question and I don't know who owns it.

If a bid was put in @ that price then I think the bidder would have totally lost the plot - £210k is probably a good and realistic starting point as the boat is priced keenly now to sell

10% is minimum drop on asking price anywhere especially as there is another one on at the same price in the southwest uk. So £206100 in my view would be a very generous offer, less commission would be netting the owner below 200k into his bank.

VolvoPaul - You want to buy the cheapest boat out there well here you go - but don't expect less 35% off this already bargain basement price - No if's or butts get your cheque book out matey http://www.boatshop24.co.uk/advert/princess-42-lincoln-sales-pontoon/39785239
