I've cracked it Claymore is Ellen's father.

Now an anagram of C[h]laymore's is lachrymose, the H is an ancient cletic rune for secret and is therefore never shown in a name used in a code ...

and they're both about the same size..

He must be a proud father!

yeah! I should have guessed ! The constant complaining northernish type intent on ridiculous voyages at someone else's expense. Er....but there again, doesn't she wear a rubbish hat, is careless about her appearance, rings up everyone and anyone for nav advice or spare charts and uses a bucket as the bog? Is this jimi trying to create a smokescreen, and not just to dissipate the pong?!
