Object of exercise to evaluate the electrical potential between the source and earth.
Reason for investigation, frequent complaint about electric shock when touching the boat and to establish a recognisable scale of reaction of wife to electric shock thus enabling the voltage to be calculated without the use of expensive instruments.
Source :- Humber stern gear.
Test equipment:- Mrs P
Results.
Shock voltage 0Vac
Indicated by 2 touches of the metal work and a satisfied Humph, followed by the climbing if the bathing ladder.
Shock voltage 45Vac
Indicated by 1 touch of metal work, followed by anguished cry of OH F**K and 2 spinning hops on one leg while shaking hand.
Due to the unreasonable reaction of the test equipment (Mrs P). I have been unable to investigate higher voltages. Does anybody out there have data available that will enable me to complete the ChrisP scale of voltage leakage thus entitling me to a noble prize for science.
Thanks for your assistance and you will of course be mentioned in the paper when I publish the completed findings.
ChrisP ;-)
P.S. Would have delved deeper into the cause of the shock problem had it not been for the fact that Mr B is having a beer free month and it’s just too great a temptation to sit in front of him with a shining clear pint. Watching him drool while you drink it.
