Scary, Russian sub spotted off Felixstowe

Apparently that Russian sub moored in the centre of Rochester actually sailed past Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex and decided to keep going to somewhere showing signs of intelligence.

Considering Felixstowe is the 7th biggest port in the UK everyone would notice...
I did my courting in Felixstowe. My wife’s grandma lived there. They didn’t get on terribly well but she got a lot more visits than usual for a couple of years while I worked in Swipswitch. The port hardly existed then but on the whole I think it might benefit us all if the trade in exporting empty containers were held back for a while.

Only been to Felixstowe once myself..
I'd built a small sailing boat while I was working in Saudi..

The container it was shipped in was supposed to take 6 weeks to arrive.. plenty of time to get organised..

A 2 weeks f later I got a phone call, when are you collecting your boat?!!!...
it took a lot of ringing around to find a suitable hire vehicle with tow bar, as the rest of the container was full of boxes of the rest of my stuff... There was only a few days before they'd start charging demurrage...

My sole experience of the area was being pinned to a pontoon in Shotly by an F9 for two days ( Mid Summer) listening to the clanging and banging across the other side of the water.
Then thinking, how bad can it be out there and escaping into an invigorating and entertaining wind against tide trip up to the Deben and an interesting 5 mins (seemed like 30) going in behind the bar.
All while the watching the spray hit the sea wall beyond and going up into the air.
Was reasured by the number of yachties out there , after all, they must know what they were doing.
