Came out of havelet today heading for Herm and on the way the drive kicked up violently so I pulled the throttles back and put her into neutral then turned off the engine. Lokked over the side and saw that the props looked ok but saw something white down there. Took dinghy off the back and reached down and managed to pull this large piece of wood about 3 inches thick 2foot long and 6 inches wide which was wedged on to the bottom fin of the drive.

Kept the piece as I am going to present it to the insurers tomoorow.with a report of what happened. Dont know if anythings broke but when I got to Shell bay I dove down and had a quick look at the drive and it seemed ok altho the drive started to creep from 1 to -3 as I was returning to SPP. Cant beleive it was stuck to the drive like an axe into a log altho I hit it @ 30 knots and it has carved a nice V into the block which has antifoul paint all over it.

I had avoided three other floating obstacles just before hitting this one, a bouy a plastic bag and a large piece of weed.

That's nothing !

Today and yesterday we had to avoid a 16 foot dead whale and a very large tree trunk with branches sticking out of it !

We had the pleasure of having to avoid a dead sheep floating down the river Severn today . . . . Imagine having to explain a dead sheep wrapped around your prop !!!!!
