What's the current status of Najad, Sweden Yachts and Malo? They all have flashy websites but I thought they had all had financial problems. Is it just HR, X-Yachts and Quorning for boat building in Scandinavia now?

Southerly still seem to have a website advertising their yachts!! So as I think you are implying a website means nothing!!

I don't want to imply anything as I know that false rumours of financial difficulties can be damaging to companies. Just wondering what the current state is.

If you ask me in even higher quality than those from our brothers and sisters in Sweden, but I might be prejudiced even though owning a British built boat.

Didn't think Arconas were actually built in Scandinavia, though I'd quite like one.

Dont quite understand how all those manufacturers keep going as they all look pretty similar to me, last time i looked (a couple of years back) Sweden Yachts were dead and buried, now theres a new website............who knows. I guess its a bit like the Southerly Yachts saga - when you keep going under eventually confidence gets lost.

Plenty, although not many in volume production now except for Jeanneau - but not sure how this is relevant to a thread on Scandinavian boat builders.

I've asked a Swedish (east coast) sailor on IRC[1] and he says:

Najad is bought by a new firm on Orust (the island all of those west coast boats are built). Gillholms marina owns them now.
Sweden Yachts is owned by Malö.
