OK, so does anybody know what the actual clearance height is of Scalpay road bridge?
The CCC Pilot states 20m clearance - and I did my passage planning on that basis.
When getting closer I rechecked the charts - Admiralty Folio and Navionics electronic - which both listed as 19m.
As our theoretical air draft was listed as 19.5m in the builders handbook, this was literally of passing interest!
Clearly height of tide below HAT is also a factor, but with imprecise boat height, losing a metre of contingency was a concern ;-)
