"Save Clyde Coastguard"

Just igrore the pay part it came as a surprise to me too, it is obviously the site that the petition organiser chose (who ever they may be)but does not make the petition less valid.

I like the $25 as the default. an no £0 cheeky just close that window it goes away.

As for the closure of Clyde Coastguard. Does the person up in Aberdeen know were "I'm just of the Jack D crow rock and sinking fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" is?

I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

"Save Clyde Coastguard "
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/saveclydecoastguard/

I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes just a few seconds of your time.

Thanks Jim.

As Stornoway and Shetland have just been reprieved I can't see the government giving any more on this issue.

When Oban CG went the takeover by Clyde was pretty painless. Hopefully the whole of the W. Coast will now be taken over by Stornoway, not Aberdeen - I much prefer the lilting lassie to the granite gowk.

The lilting lassie - its almost worth having a disaster just to be able to call her...

But I, being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet; tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.”

Likewise I cannot forsee the MCA/GOV changing their minds after saving Stornoway, Belfast and Aberdeen. I am sorry for people to lose their jobs and I shall miss Clydes forecasts to a background of telephones ringing, office chat and laughter. Personally I am comfortable with depending on Stornoway and Belfast within my sailing area. I operated a fishing boat and sailed for years in parts of the world where there were no coastguards, lifeboats or navigation lights of any kind. I appreciate all our coastal services and the dedicated people who operate them but all must be kept in context that these services provided are a luxury not a necessity. Could someone please inform the whereabouts of the Jack D Crow rock as after 60 years in the Clyde it would give my life great meaning and end my days in peace?

Just to the west of western ferry's Dunoon terminal someone painted a beak on the crow shaped rock. Maybe they had read the book about the mirror sailing to the Black Sea.
