SAS planet for planning/virtual cruising

I have not run it (tablet right now): is it the same SasPlanet from the Russian site or some sort of new different software?

thanks r
Same sasplanet, download is from ge2kap site with cmaps & navionics files already in there. Navionics been available for a while (as you know, think you sent me the link ?) cmaps is a new link.

thank you GHA,

in fact during the last few years it has been a bit of a geek fight between Navionics, changing their "webapp" chart system in order to stop sasplanet from having access and make it possible to build chartlets, and sasplanet issuing newer and newer versions to have access to navionics; that was/(is?) the reason to get the latest Sasplanet version.
I have an old one, I ll have a look when back on the pc. :)

Great site for comparing different maps. Thanks for the link. However the help file is in Russian. The program itself has a choice of language and English is one of them but not the help file. Just spent a very enjoyable three hours getting it to work on a very minimum level. Absolutely absorbing exercise. However, I would like an English help file for assistance. Any ideas please. There must be a help file in English but I cannot find it.

Wow thanks for the link GHA. My winter months are looking a bit better with a good puzzle. Pity Wiki has not translated all the help file. Maybe I can try Google Translate if (actually when) I get stuck.
You could add to the wiki if you find some gems

I've not got past pressing keyboard shortcuts to jump from map to map :)

The latest opencpn will read MBtiles apparently, so you should be able to export a map as MBtiles and view in opencpn.
